STAAD.Pro CONNECT Edition
Structural analysis and design across steel, concrete and timber, with the international design code set included and results reported per member.
About STAAD.Pro CONNECT Edition
STAAD.Pro takes a structural model, applies loads to it, solves the analysis and then checks every member against a design code, all inside one environment. That end to end path is the reason it is a fixture in structural offices: the model that gets analysed is the same one that gets designed and reported, so there is no export step where assumptions quietly change.
Model building works either graphically or through the text command file, and experienced users move between the two constantly. The graphical environment handles geometry, supports, releases and meshing, while the command file gives exact control over load combinations and analysis parameters and can be generated or edited in bulk by anyone comfortable with a text editor.
The analysis engine covers the usual range and a good deal beyond it: static, P-Delta, buckling, response spectrum, time history, cable and pushover, with plate and solid elements alongside frame members. Load generation handles wind, seismic and moving loads against the code selected rather than being entered by hand.
Design and reporting close the loop. Steel, concrete, timber, aluminium and cold formed members are checked against a broad set of international codes, with utilisation ratios reported per member and the governing clause identified. Reports assemble into a document with the tables, diagrams and load cases an approving engineer expects to see.
What is included in this build
- Graphical modelling alongside a fully editable text command file
- Static, P-Delta, buckling, response spectrum, time history and pushover analysis
- Frame, plate, solid and cable elements in a single model
- Automatic wind, seismic and moving load generation against the selected code
- Design checks for steel, concrete, timber, aluminium and cold formed sections
- International design code set included rather than sold separately
- Per-member utilisation ratios with the governing clause identified
- Report builder producing tables, diagrams and load case summaries
Changed in version 22 Update 9
- Faster solver performance on models with high node counts
- Additional design code revisions added to the code set
- Improved plate meshing on irregular geometry
- Better handling of very large load combination sets
- Report builder output tidied for long member schedules
Installation walkthrough
These steps assume a clean machine. If a previous release of the same application is present, deal with that first, since an overlapping install is the most common cause of a setup that stops halfway.
- Disable real-time protection until the install has finished.
- Extract the archive to a short path with no spaces on a drive with 20 GB free.
- Install the bundled runtime prerequisites when the setup offers them.
- Run setup as administrator and choose the design code region during configuration.
- Reboot once before opening the first model.
