Requests

Request a title

Post a title that is not in the index yet, or an older version of one that is. Requests enter a single queue worked through on each refresh pass.

Request

Ask for a title that is not listed

A request naming the exact version is far more likely to be filled correctly than one naming only the application.
Leave it empty to post the request without one. Nothing is sent unless the request is filled.
The queue

How requests are worked through

Requests go into a single queue and are worked through on each refresh pass. Popular titles move up on their own as the same request arrives from several people, so there is no point in posting the same one repeatedly.

A request that names the exact version, edition and architecture is filled correctly. A request that names only the application usually results in the wrong build, which then has to be requested again with the details that should have been there the first time.

Not every request is filled. Some titles cannot be verified on a clean machine, some are too narrow to be worth listing, and some are already listed under a name that did not match what was searched for. Checking the library first is worth the thirty seconds.

What gets filled fastest

In rough order

  • Older versions of titles already in the index, which are usually straightforward
  • Current releases of widely used professional software
  • Editions that differ from a listed one only by architecture or language
  • Companion tooling for an application already listed here
  • Specialist packages with a small user base, which take considerably longer
