About Perfectly Clear WorkBench

WorkBench is built for volume correction rather than for individual retouching. The engine analyses each image on its own terms, works out what is wrong with the exposure, the colour balance, the contrast and the tone distribution, and applies a correction calculated for that frame instead of a preset applied uniformly across the set.

The face aware tooling is the part that sells it to event and portrait photographers. Faces are detected per frame, then skin tone, eye enhancement, blemish reduction, teeth whitening, catchlight and slimming corrections are applied at a strength that scales with the size of the face in the frame. A thousand frame wedding set comes back consistent rather than uneven.

Correction presets stack into recipes that can be saved and reused, and every individual correction has a strength slider, so the automatic result becomes a starting point rather than the final answer. The before and after view splits the frame, and a batch can be reviewed by flicking through corrected results before anything is written out.

It runs as a standalone application and as a plugin inside the common editors and catalogue applications, which is how most people actually use it. The batch engine processes folders of raw or rendered images with output naming, resizing and format conversion applied on the way out, and it uses whatever cores are present rather than working one frame at a time.

Installation

Installation walkthrough

These steps assume a clean machine. If a previous release of the same application is present, deal with that first, since an overlapping install is the most common cause of a setup that stops halfway.

  1. Close any host editor or catalogue application before starting setup.
  2. Disable real-time protection until the install completes.
  3. Extract the archive to a short path and run setup as administrator.
  4. Select the plugin hosts to register during the component stage.
  5. Launch the host application once afterwards so the plugin registers correctly.
Real-time protection flags installers of this type on heuristics alone. Pause it before extracting and turn it back on once the install has finished and the application has been opened once.
