Harmonize matches a pasted subject to the colour and light of the plate it lands on, and the removal tool cleans up backgrounds with far fewer passes.

Everything else that makes the application liveable is where you expect it. The Contextual Task Bar follows the selection, adjustment presets preview on hover, and the Selection Brush paints a mask directly without a marching-ants intermediate step. Documents are non-destructive throughout, so a retouch made three weeks ago can still be unwound layer by layer.

Performance on the 2026 build is noticeably better on machines with a modern GPU. Large multi-gigabyte documents scroll without the tile lag older versions showed, brush strokes stay ahead of the cursor at large radii, and the Camera Raw pipeline offloads most of its heavy lifting so batch conversions finish in a fraction of the time a CPU-only pass takes.

Installation walkthrough

These steps assume a clean machine. If a previous release of the same application is present, deal with that first, since an overlapping install is the most common cause of a setup that stops halfway.

1. Pause any real-time protection before extracting, since installers of this type are frequently flagged on heuristics alone.
2. Extract the archive to a folder with a short path and no spaces, for example a folder directly on the root of a drive.
3. Close every Adobe process, including the background Creative Cloud helper, from the details tab of Task Manager.
4. Run the setup executable as administrator and pick the interface language before the copy stage begins.
