Most machines end up with two separate tools, one for direct transfers and one for torrents, each with its own queue, its own bandwidth setting and its own idea of where files go. This handles both in a single list with one set of limits, which is a smaller thing than it sounds until a direct transfer and a torrent are fighting over the same line.

Direct transfers use the usual segmented approach, splitting a file across several connections and reassembling it, with resume from the segment map after an interruption. Torrent transfers get the standard protocol feature set including magnet links, peer exchange, distributed hash table and per-file selection inside a multi-file torrent.

Media capture is built in rather than bolted on. The browser extension puts a capture control over playing media, lists the available qualities, and can pull an entire page of media or a whole playlist in one operation. Adaptive streams delivered as many small fragments are joined back into a single file automatically.

The queue side is where it gets used day to day: scheduled start and stop times, bandwidth limits applied globally or per transfer, automatic sorting of finished files into folders by type, a preview that plays a partially transferred media file before it finishes, and a remote control interface for starting something from another machine on the network.

Installation walkthrough

These steps assume a clean machine. If a previous release of the same application is present, deal with that first, since an overlapping install is the most common cause of a setup that stops halfway.

1. Close every browser window fully before starting setup.
2. Extract the archive and run the installer as administrator.
3. Allow the browser extension to register when the installer prompts.
4. Set the incoming port and open it in the firewall if torrent transfers will be used.
5. Choose the download folder and the global bandwidth limit from settings before queuing anything large.
