Firefly AI Support for Photoshop
The generative model support package that restores the AI panels inside Photoshop, covering fill, expand, texture generation and the newer instruction driven edits.
About Firefly AI Support for Photoshop
This is the support layer that sits underneath the generative panels in Photoshop rather than a standalone application. Repacked editor builds frequently ship with the model plumbing stripped out, which is why the Generative Fill bar appears greyed and the prompt box refuses input. Installing this package puts the missing components back where the editor expects to find them and the panels light up again.
The model set covers the usual generative work: filling a selection from a written description, expanding a canvas past its original frame with matched perspective and grain, generating tiling textures and patterns from a prompt, and producing vector-ready shapes that drop into a document as editable paths rather than flattened pixels. Each generation returns several variations on their own layers so nothing is committed until a variation is chosen.
Instruction style editing is the part that changes day to day retouching. Rather than masking a region and describing what should appear, a sentence describing the change is applied to the whole layer, and the model returns a result that respects the existing lighting and lens character. Reference images can be attached to steer style, composition or colour without writing a long prompt.
The package also carries the credit tracking panel, the content authenticity metadata writer, and the per document history that records which generations were used where. All of it is optional and can be switched off from preferences if the extra panels get in the way of a clean workspace.
What is included in this build
- Restores Generative Fill, Generative Expand and the generative workspace panels
- Text to image, text to pattern and text to vector generation inside an open document
- Instruction style editing applied to a whole layer with lighting and grain preserved
- Reference image attachment for steering style, composition and colour
- Multiple variations returned per generation, each on its own layer
- Generative upscaling and background replacement built into the same panel
- Content authenticity metadata written into exported files, switchable in preferences
- Per document history recording which generation produced which layer
Changed in version 25.0.0.2265
- Newer model revision selectable from the panel dropdown
- Faster first generation after launch through pre-warmed components
- Text to vector output now produces cleaner path data with fewer anchor points
- Reference image handling extended to accept several references at once
- Reduced memory pressure when generating at large canvas sizes
Installation walkthrough
These steps assume a clean machine. If a previous release of the same application is present, deal with that first, since an overlapping install is the most common cause of a setup that stops halfway.
- Install the matching Photoshop release first, since this package attaches to an existing installation.
- Pause real-time protection before extracting so no component files are quarantined.
- Extract the archive to a short path with no spaces in the folder name.
- Close Photoshop completely, including any background helper process, before running setup.
- Run the installer as administrator, then launch the editor once so the panels register.
