Continuum is the broadest single plugin collection in post production, and the Complete edition installs every category rather than the individual units people usually buy piecemeal. That breadth is the whole point: instead of hunting for a specific filter and finding it belongs to a suite nobody owns, the shot is finished with what is already on the machine.

The categories map onto real jobs. Keying and compositing handles green screen work with edge and spill controls that survive badly lit plates. Image restoration covers noise, flicker, dust and scratch removal on archive material. Lights and optical filters produce lens flares, glows, rays and diffusion that behave like glass rather than like a drawn overlay. Film style units emulate stocks, grain, halation and gate weave for period looks.

The title and transition units are the ones editors reach for daily. Text can be built and animated inside the filter with proper typographic control, lower thirds assemble from presets, and the transition set covers everything from clean dissolves to the aggressive glitch and light leak treatments that would otherwise be built by hand in a compositor.

Underneath all of it sits the shared tracking and masking engine, which is what makes the collection worth installing as a set. Any filter can be tracked onto a moving surface and masked to a region using the same planar tracker and spline tools, so a blur, a glow or a colour treatment follows a face or a sign through a shot without leaving the host application.

Installation walkthrough

These steps assume a clean machine. If a previous release of the same application is present, deal with that first, since an overlapping install is the most common cause of a setup that stops halfway.

1. Close every host application before starting, including background render processes.
2. Disable real-time protection for the length of the install.
3. Extract the archive to a folder with a short path.
4. Run setup as administrator and let it detect the installed hosts, then confirm the list before continuing.
5. Launch one host afterwards and let the first scan complete, which takes a few minutes on a collection this size.
