Overview

About Wondershare Dr.Fone Toolkit

This is a collection of separate phone utilities behind one launcher, which is the right shape for the problem, since nobody needs all of them at once but everybody eventually needs one. A phone connects by cable, the toolkit identifies it, and the module list becomes the menu of what can be done to it from the desktop.

Recovery is the module people arrive for. It scans a connected handset or an existing backup for deleted messages, contacts, call logs, photos, notes and application data, previews what it finds, and restores only the selected items rather than rolling the whole device back. Recovering a conversation without overwriting everything else on the phone is the difference between this and restoring from a backup wholesale.

Transfer and backup cover the ordinary lifecycle work. Moving contacts, messages, photos, music and call history from one handset to another survives a change of platform, which is where the built-in migration tools usually give up. Backups run to the desktop selectively and restore the same way, so a single album or a single conversation comes back without touching anything else on the device.

The repair and unlock modules handle the awkward situations. System repair reinstalls the device firmware to bring a handset stuck in a boot loop or a recovery screen back to a working state, with a mode that keeps user data where the fault allows it. Screen unlock removes a forgotten passcode or pattern, which erases the device, and the toolkit says so clearly before it starts rather than afterwards.

Installation

Installation walkthrough

These steps assume a clean machine. If a previous release of the same application is present, deal with that first, since an overlapping install is the most common cause of a setup that stops halfway.

  1. Install the device manufacturer driver first so the handset is recognised over cable.
  2. Extract the archive and run the installer as administrator.
  3. Connect the phone by a data cable rather than a charge only one, which is the usual cause of a device not appearing.
  4. Unlock the handset and accept the trust prompt on its screen when it appears.
  5. Take a full backup before running any repair or unlock module.
Real-time protection flags installers of this type on heuristics alone. Pause it before extracting and turn it back on once the install has finished and the application has been opened once.

Questions

Frequently asked about this title

Why is the phone not detected?
Almost always a charge only cable or a missing manufacturer driver. Swap the cable first, then install the driver.
Does screen unlock keep the data?
No. Removing a lock erases the device. Take a backup first if the handset is still accessible at all.
Can recovery run without a backup?
Yes, it scans the connected device directly, though results depend on how much has been written since the deletion.
Does transfer work between different platforms?
Yes, for contacts, messages, media and call history, which is the case the built-in migration tools handle worst.
