About TeamViewer
TeamViewer connects two machines without anybody touching a router. The connection negotiates outward from both ends, so a support session works across home connections, mobile tethering and office networks that would otherwise need firewall rules opened. In practice that is the entire reason it became the default answer to helping someone remotely.
The session itself behaves like sitting at the machine. Input passes through with low enough latency to be usable, the display scales or shows at native resolution, multi-monitor setups can be viewed side by side or switched between, and quality adapts to the line so a poor connection degrades smoothly rather than freezing.
Unattended access turns it from a support tool into an administration one. A machine configured for it stays reachable with no one present, which covers a workstation left at the office, a machine in a rack or a system that needs checking outside working hours. Access is controlled per device with a permanent identifier that does not change.
The supporting tools cover most of what a session actually needs: file transfer in both directions with a two pane browser, clipboard sharing, session recording, remote printing to a local printer, a chat and voice channel alongside the screen, and reboot with automatic reconnection so a machine can be restarted without losing the session.

Installation walkthrough
These steps assume a clean machine. If a previous release of the same application is present, deal with that first, since an overlapping install is the most common cause of a setup that stops halfway.
- Extract the archive to a folder with a short path.
- Run the installer as administrator and choose whether unattended access is wanted.
- Allow the connection through the machine firewall when prompted on first launch.
- Set a strong permanent access password if unattended access was enabled.
- Note the device identifier, since the remote end needs it to connect.
