Overview

About Revo Uninstaller Pro

A normal uninstall is written by the same people who wrote the installer, and it is routinely incomplete. Configuration folders, cached data, service entries, scheduled tasks and long strings of registry keys stay behind, and over a few years of installing and removing software that residue becomes the reason a machine feels slow and behaves strangely.

This tool runs the software's own uninstaller first, which is the correct order, and then scans for what survived. The results are presented as a list with the safe items already ticked and anything questionable left for review, so the sweep can be as aggressive or as cautious as the situation deserves rather than being all or nothing.

Hunter mode is the feature people keep it for. A crosshair is dragged onto any window, tray icon or shortcut on screen and the tool identifies which installed program it belongs to, then offers to uninstall, stop or disable it at startup. For tracking down something that appeared on a machine without an obvious name in the program list, nothing else is as quick.

The Pro build adds monitored installation, which is the thorough approach. Recording is started before an installer runs, every file and registry change it makes is logged, and removal later reverses exactly that log rather than guessing. Forced uninstall handles software whose own uninstaller is broken or missing, and the extra tools cover startup control, junk cleanup, browser extension management and secure deletion.

Installation

Installation walkthrough

These steps assume a clean machine. If a previous release of the same application is present, deal with that first, since an overlapping install is the most common cause of a setup that stops halfway.

  1. Extract the archive to a short folder path.
  2. Disable real-time protection for the duration of the install.
  3. Run setup as administrator.
  4. Create a system restore point before the first aggressive leftover sweep.
  5. Enable installation monitoring in options if new software will be installed afterwards.
Real-time protection flags installers of this type on heuristics alone. Pause it before extracting and turn it back on once the install has finished and the application has been opened once.

Questions

Frequently asked about this title

Is the advanced scan level risky?
It finds the most but it also lists shared entries. Review the list rather than ticking everything, and take a restore point first.
What does monitored installation actually gain?
An exact log of every change an installer made, so removal reverses that log instead of pattern matching afterwards.
Can it remove something with no uninstaller?
Yes, forced uninstall handles software whose own uninstaller is broken or was never registered.
Does it back up what it deletes?
Registry entries are backed up before removal and can be restored from within the application.
