Almost every desktop motherboard and a large share of laptops use a Realtek audio codec, and the driver the operating system installs by itself is a generic one. Installation walkthrough

These steps assume a clean machine. If a previous release of the same application is present, deal with that first, since an overlapping install is the most common cause of a setup that stops halfway.

1. Uninstall any existing audio driver package and reboot before starting.
2. Extract the archive and run the setup executable as administrator.
3. Let the installer remove the previous driver when it offers to, then allow the reboot it asks for.
4. After the reboot, open the control panel and set the speaker configuration and jack behaviour.
5. Leave any external audio interface on its own vendor driver rather than this package.
