Driver Easy Professional
A driver scanner and updater that identifies hardware, matches it against a large driver database and installs the results without hunting through vendor sites.
About Driver Easy Professional
Finding the right driver by hand is a genuinely tedious job. The hardware has to be identified from a device manager entry that often says nothing useful, the vendor site has to be located, the correct model variant picked out of a list of near identical ones, and the download checked against the installed version. Driver Easy collapses that into a scan and a list.
The scan reads hardware identifiers directly rather than relying on the names Windows displays, which is why it correctly identifies chipset components, card readers, unlabelled controllers and the various unknown devices that appear in a fresh installation. Each result shows the currently installed version alongside the available one, so nothing is replaced without a reason.
The Professional tier is where the practical features live: downloads run at full speed rather than throttled, every driver installs in one action instead of one at a time, and a restore point is created before each installation. The backup function saves every installed driver to a folder or an archive before a rebuild, which turns a fresh installation into a restore rather than another afternoon of hunting.
It also handles the awkward cases. Offline scan exports a hardware profile from a machine with no network at all, and the matching drivers are downloaded elsewhere and carried across on a stick, which is exactly the situation a freshly installed machine with no network driver produces. Rollback restores the previous driver if an update misbehaves, and the exclusion list stops a specific device being touched again.

Installation walkthrough
These steps assume a clean machine. If a previous release of the same application is present, deal with that first, since an overlapping install is the most common cause of a setup that stops halfway.
- Extract the archive and run the installer as administrator.
- Create a system restore point before running the first update pass.
- Run a scan and review the list rather than updating everything at once.
- Update graphics drivers separately if a specific version is needed for a production application.
- Reboot after the first batch of installations completes.
