AOMEI Backupper with WinPE ISO
Disk, partition and file backup with incremental scheduling, cloning to a replacement drive, and a bootable recovery environment for restoring a machine that no longer starts.
About AOMEI Backupper with WinPE ISO
A backup tool is judged on one moment, which is the restore. Backupper covers the whole path to that moment: a full image of the system drive, incremental and differential runs on a schedule so the image stays current without rewriting everything, and a bootable environment that can put the image back on a machine with no working operating system on it.
Backup granularity goes from a whole disk down to a single folder. Disk and partition backups capture everything including the boot configuration, file backups follow selected paths with filters, and sync jobs mirror folders to another drive or a network share on a schedule. Images are compressed and can be split, so a large system drive fits on the media that is actually available.
Cloning is the other half of the product, and it is the part people reach for when a drive is replaced rather than restored. A system clone moves an installed operating system onto a new disk with the boot configuration rebuilt so the machine starts from the new drive, and an intelligent clone copies used sectors only, which makes moving a lightly filled large drive onto a smaller fast one straightforward.
The bundled recovery environment is what makes the rest usable in an emergency. It boots from a stick, sees the backup drive, and restores a full image to bare metal, including onto hardware that is not the machine the image came from. Universal restore adjusts the drivers on the way in so a system image lands on a different chipset without stalling at boot.

Changed in version 8.4.0
- Faster incremental runs on volumes with millions of small files
- Improved recovery environment driver coverage for current storage controllers
- Better handling of very large images split across multiple files
- Reduced memory use during long running scheduled jobs
- Interface scaling corrected on high density displays
Installation walkthrough
These steps assume a clean machine. If a previous release of the same application is present, deal with that first, since an overlapping install is the most common cause of a setup that stops halfway.
- Run the installer as administrator with any other imaging tool closed.
- Build the bootable recovery media immediately after installation, before it is needed.
- Test that the recovery stick boots on the machine it is meant to protect.
- Set the backup destination to a separate physical drive, never the drive being imaged.
- Configure a schedule with retention rules so old versions are cleared automatically.
