Overview

About Movavi Video Editor Plus

This is an editor built around the idea that most people want a finished video, not a career in post production. The timeline has a video track, an overlay track, a title track and an audio track, and everything is drag and drop from a media bin on the left. There is no conform step, no proxy dialog and no codec conversation before the first cut lands.

The built-in library carries most of the project. Transitions, titles, callouts, filters, stickers and background music are all installed rather than downloaded, so an edit can be assembled with no connection at all. Titles are edited directly on the preview by typing over them, which removes the usual gap between choosing a preset and making it say the right thing.

The tools that matter are still present under the simple surface. Chroma key removes a green background, stabilisation smooths handheld footage, motion tracking attaches a title or a blur to a moving subject, and audio has noise removal, ducking and beat detection. Speed changes ramp rather than step, and picture in picture is a matter of dragging a clip onto the overlay track.

Export presets cover the usual sizes and platforms with hardware encoding where the machine supports it, and there is a straightforward path from a phone recording to a finished file that plays anywhere. Projects are small, self contained and reopen without relinking every clip by hand.

Installation

Installation walkthrough

These steps assume a clean machine. If a previous release of the same application is present, deal with that first, since an overlapping install is the most common cause of a setup that stops halfway.

  1. Close any running instance of the editor before starting setup.
  2. Disable real-time protection until installation has finished.
  3. Extract the archive to a short path and run setup as administrator.
  4. Choose the interface language during setup.
  5. Point the cache and export folders at a drive with plenty of free space.
Real-time protection flags installers of this type on heuristics alone. Pause it before extracting and turn it back on once the install has finished and the application has been opened once.

Questions

Frequently asked about this title

Is there a watermark on export?
No watermark is applied on export in this build.
Does the effect library need a connection?
No. The built-in set installs with the application and works entirely offline.
Can it handle a long edit?
It can, but a feature length project is better served by an editor built around long form sequences.
Are 4K exports supported?
Yes, with hardware encoding where the graphics card supports it.
