About Bandicam
Bandicam is a capture tool built around not costing performance. It encodes on the graphics hardware rather than the processor, which is the reason a full screen recording at high frame rate leaves the machine responsive instead of turning the thing being recorded into a slideshow. On a machine with a modern GPU the overhead is close to unnoticeable.
Three capture modes cover most needs. Screen mode records a rectangle or a whole display and follows the mouse if asked. Game mode hooks the graphics layer directly, which captures full screen applications that a plain screen recorder cannot see. Device mode takes an incoming signal from a capture card or a webcam, so an external source is recorded through the same interface.
The extras are aimed at making the recording usable rather than raw. A webcam overlay drops a camera into a corner with a size and position that can be set beforehand, microphone and system audio are recorded on separate tracks so the mix can be fixed afterwards, mouse clicks can be highlighted, and real time drawing lets a point be circled while recording rather than in the edit.
Around the capture itself sits the practical set: scheduled recording that starts and stops on its own, a size limit that splits a long session into files, output format and bitrate control, frame rate limiting, still frame capture at intervals, and a trimming pass so an overlong recording can be cut down without opening an editor.

Installation walkthrough
These steps assume a clean machine. If a previous release of the same application is present, deal with that first, since an overlapping install is the most common cause of a setup that stops halfway.
