Windows 10 Professional
A multilingual x64 desktop image of the Professional edition with the servicing stack folded in, ready to write to a USB stick.
About Windows 10 Professional
Windows 10 Professional remains the sensible choice for a working machine that has to stay predictable. The interface stops moving, the driver situation is settled after a decade of hardware support, and the Professional edition carries the pieces the Home edition does not: BitLocker, Group Policy, Remote Desktop hosting, Hyper-V and domain join.
This is a multilingual x64 image with the servicing stack already integrated, so the first-boot update pass is short rather than an afternoon. It writes to a USB stick with any of the usual imaging tools and boots on both UEFI and legacy systems, which keeps it useful for older workstations that will not take a current release.
For creative and engineering work the practical argument is compatibility. Older plugin chains, dongle drivers, capture cards and licence managers that stall on a newer release generally still behave here, and the storage and networking stacks are well understood by anyone who has to troubleshoot them under time pressure.
Setup offers the usual choices: clean install onto a wiped partition, or an upgrade that keeps files and applications in place. A clean install is always the better outcome, but the upgrade path is there when a machine cannot be rebuilt from scratch on the day.

Installation walkthrough
These steps assume a clean machine. If a previous release of the same application is present, deal with that first, since an overlapping install is the most common cause of a setup that stops halfway.
- Back up everything on the target machine first. A clean install erases the system partition.
- Write the image to a USB stick of 8 GB or larger with a standard imaging tool.
- Boot from the stick, entering the firmware boot menu if the machine does not pick it up automatically.
- Choose the interface language, then select a clean install onto the wiped system partition.
- Install chipset and graphics drivers from the hardware vendor after the first boot completes.
